Holy cow its been a while since I’ve done a post!! Sorry about that. Holidays and just the normal winter running around has threw me off a little! Hey really quick before I go into all the workouts that men and women can do in 30 minutes, let me ask a favor of you. Is that cool? Ok so now on to the good stuff. The biggest question isn’t whether or not there are 30 minute routines you can do. Of course there is. The real question that most people want an honest answer to is…can I get in shape or stay in shape with only doing 30 minutes? The answer…YES! So before I loose your attention completely, I’ll list out below the workouts that are rated #1 for 30 minute workouts below that I’ll give you the scoop on how 30 minute workouts in some if not most cases can be more effective for you than an hour, and I’ll go into each listed workout a little to give you an idea of what they’re like. BUT remember, leave me a nice word or two in the comment box below!
30 Minute Workouts for Men and Women that are totally effective for anyone of any size, gender and experience.
Ok so 30 minutes a day HUH? Can it really help me shred this fat and look good? Yes! How? Study after study shows that the most dramatic body transformations happen in the first 30 minutes of exercise. Tony Horton’s goal in X3 was to find a way to use that window of opportunity to help people get ripped, P90X ripped, in just half an hour a day.
So lets just use P90X as an example. With P90X you have your first round of workouts, usually the first round is 30 minutes and then you repeat that in the second round to finish up your hour. So lets say most people burn out in the first 30 minutes and in the second round they need to have enough energy to make it through the workout but may have pushed to hard in the first round, so they are fighting against theirself. Therefor, having 1 30 minute workout that men and women can do each day or 5 or 6 days a week showed that they are effectively burning calories and get in amazing shape.
Of course if you’ve read any of my other post you know what Im going to say next…nutrition is a must. It goes hand in hand with getting that body that you want. And the important thing to remember is that its not going to happen over night. Consistent workouts and nutrition WILL bring consistent results. But you’ve got to work at it!
Now for those of you who PUSH hard for an hour or more each day, don’t hate me. Believe me, I love a good hour workout session. But lets face it. If you’re a single parent, a busy student, a busy parent, a busy business man/women or just don’t want to workout anymore than you have to, and you just want to be in shape and comfortable with your body, not pose for a magazine then a 30 minute workout IS the best solution and it does work!

Let me tell you a little about each workout:
P90X3: This workout of course it 30 minutes and is 6 days a week with an optional 7th day workout. If you need extra time to warm up you can select that option and then move on to the workout. The workout itself is just 30 minutes. So you can get in and out and be done. If you’ve never used a workout from Tony Horton then let me break it down. Those of you who have will know what Im talking about. Tony (at least to me) is hilarious. He uses humor through the entire workout so its not boring at all. A LOT of the moves are centered around you own body and weight. Lots of balance building moves and believe it or not that burns fat and builds muscle, more so than going to the gym and using machines. (He actually says that) There are pull ups, which you can modify that with bands if you don’t have a bar. Simple things like dumbbells, weighted balls or even a basket ball, resistance bands and just you. Tony is the modern day Arnold Schwarzenegger, at least in my eyes. He knows his stuff. I highly recommend this workout to anyone. You don’t have to do any of the previous P90X workouts to do X3. Its well balanced and has an awesome and easy to follow nutrition guide. Its a great mix of cardio, MMX and resistance workouts. Better than any gym in my book!
T25: Shaun T created T25. This dude doesn’t play around! Same scenario as X3. This is a 25 minute workout 5 days a week with a 3 minute cool down after each workout, so a total of about 28 minutes. Friday’s are whats called double days. So you do 2 25 minute workouts on Friday. It was a shocker for me when I got it. But I easily figured out on the Fridays that I only had 25 minutes to spare then I could make up the second workout on Saturday. The results weren’t hindered to my knowledge. The workout is I would say about 75% cardio. There are moves and workouts that use a light weight dumbbell or a resistance band. I love T25 durning that 90 days. Actually though, T25 is only a 60 day program with the option to get the Gamma series to extend it another 30 days. If you like lots of cardio, I recommend this workout. Again anyone can do this. All levels of fitness. I mean you gotta start somewhere right? X3 and T25 are great for starters to extreme fitness level. Good stuff.
BodyBeast: Im not sure it’s fare to put this workout in the short workout category but Im going to anyway. This particular is based on building muscle. Don’t let that fool you though. You can lose weight and tone up with this workout. And believe it or not its quit popular with the ladies. And you don’t have to fear, if you don’t want to get bulky but simply ton and create muscle this is a great workout. You do need equipment though. You can check out my BodyBeast page to see what all equipment you need or search for some related post for some more info. As far as time, during the first 4 weeks I think the workouts are around 45 to 55 minutes. During your Bulk phase (don’t worry about the name) the workouts are 28 to 35 minutes. So kinda short. Either way I love this program. In fact Im testing my own BodyBeast/P90X3 hybrid right now. More on that in a later post.

What’s up? So I want to share with you my 2013 Charlotte, NC Tough Mudder experience. If you read my post from last year I pretty much go over with you what to look for, how to dress and some advice on my Beachbody programs that you can use to get ready to do your Tough Mudder. If Im going to be 100% honest with you I was a little under trained last year. I had done Body Beast I think for the most part, and I had done Insanity the Asylum, but I hadn’t ran at all and that was my downfall. Last year was super tough for me. This year, I kicked ass and so did my team. So I want to offer a little better advice on how to train for events like this.
Like I said, I trained really hard for this years Tough Mudder. I’ll tell you what I did and what I think I could do to improve a little more.
Let me start out by saying that I was already in pretty good shape to start. Since becoming a Beachbody Coach in August 2011 I’ve pretty much worked out consistently since then, doing programs like P90X and Body Beast on a regular and doing the new releases like P90X2, Asylum and this years release of T25. After the release this year in July of T25 I did the first 35 days straight of T25 and then for the last 25 days of Beta and the entire Gamma phase I added in the Body Beast workouts each day and I also ran 6 miles twice a week for 2 or 3 months. If you don’t know, Body Beast is pretty much all weight lifting. Lots of old school moves and some new school moves. T25 is a nice mixture of cardio and resistance, all based around tight schedules. Its only 25 minutes a day 5 days a week. P90X is pretty much push and pull. So lots of push-ups and lots of pull-ups and there is a nice mixture of weight lifting to.
I would train at least 4-6 months ahead of your scheduled event. Any of the programs that I listed above will get you into great shape. Upper strength will save you time an time again in this event. You want to use your legs to run, and use as much upper body in obstacles as possible. Run, run, and run some more. My advice is to run 10 to 15 miles a week for 4 to 5 months. Some of the guys in my group ran once a week and they did an awesome job. I ran twice a week 6 miles each time and I did great. Honestly I stayed in the back of our pack the whole time. I’ve had knee issues in the past and because I didn’t run to train for the 2012 Tough Mudder that’s why my knee blew out on me, so I was extra cautious this time, but I believe that because I ran in training this year I didn’t have any issues what so ever.
There are some times that you have to swim. So of course if you want to complete 100% of the obstacles then I would advise you to know how to swim. I did get a cramp one time in the last 2 miles, and it was directly after an obstacle that I had to swim. Thats the hard part. Unless you have somewhere that you can run and swim directly after and then run some more, then its hard to train for it, but I think if you can run 10 miles nonstop you’ll be ok.
For those of you who may not know a lot about Tough Mudder its a 10 to 12 mile course of about 20+ military obstacles.
Charlotte NC, 2013 Tough Mudder Coures Guide
The group of guys that I ran with were great and we helped and motivated each other. We’ve all trained hard so that we could run this course nonstop with the only exception of stoping for the obstacles. We finished the 11 mile course in 2 hours and 37 minutes. I want to say we actually ran it in 2 hours 17 minutes which I think is freakin bad ass. I mean there are some people/teams that may finish sooner but it was a great accomplishment for us! The average according to Tough Mudder is 3.25 to 3.75 hours to complete the course, so almost 1 hour ahead of average is pretty damn good in my book.
Just below tells why I we would have finished 15-20 minutes sooner…
There is one obstacle that my whole team agreed was the best and changed us all. This obstacle wasn’t even on the map. I had actually finished the Boa Constrictor obstacle. I was the last of my team mates to make it through this one. We were on about mile 7 I think. As I run over to meet my team so we start running again, just 100 feet from the obstacle was an extremely muddy 20 foot steep hill that we had to go down. There was a team of 5 that was trying to get down it as we approach. We had made such great time and wanted to just keep going, but we seen that this team was having a hard time figuring out how to get one teammate down the hill. He was in a wheel chair.
Now this in my opinion took great courage. This guy had to put a lot of trust into his team. This guy is no saint. He’s no better or worse because he’s in a chair. And we didn’t treat him any different. What we did do is what Tough Mudder is all about. We saw a fellow Mudder that needed help. And we helped to get the chair down and back up the 20 foot hills. My team can’t take full credit. We did stop and we did help. But so did the other 50 to 100 people at the end of the Boa Constrictor obstacle. I couldn’t get a hand in to help on the way down, so I went to the bottom to wait so I could help going up. (This was in the woods mind you…not man made and there was a small but wet creek at the bottom to get through) As I basically slide down the muddy hill, I stand up and look up. I don’t care how manly you are, but I had goose bumps come over me. It went from my team of 4 plus maybe 10 others helping to what looked like 50 to 100 people. All standing arm-in-arm, working together to get this chair down the hill. It was truly amazing to see so many strangers, with one thing in common (fellow mudders) come together to help someone. To put another team before themselves.
We all agreed that it made the whole event worth while. It was a very humbling event. Im proud of the men that I ran with and Im proud of the other Mudders that helped out. I know for a fact that each TM event is like that in its own way. Mudders helping Mudders. Its a great thing!

You can do anything that you want to in this world. There are always obstacles to face. But facing them and conquering them is what makes us stronger and better. Sometimes we are forced to rely on someone to help us. We have to humble ourselves and ask for help. Remember that asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness, but a sign of intelligence. In todays world we have to work smart. Set your goals and conquer them!
I dedicated this run to Brandon, a 10 year old brave little boy! Brandon Matthew Ingram has been battling Ewing’s Sarcoma since before he was diagnosed on November 28, 2011. He is now fighting a second recurrence. I wore a shirt to honor Brandon and to remind me that giving up was just not an option.

What’s up? Long time no post…sorry, I’ve been super busy with a lot of new and exciting things. Wanna know more about it and how you can win a FREE P90X or Insanity workout? Ok I’ll tell you…but first let me tell you about a little problem I’ve been going through.
So if you visit my blog often then you know its about “health and fitness” right? For the last 90 days I’ve been doing a new workout. Before I get into the problem I’ve experienced, let me tell you what good came from it. I’m no expert, but I do know a little when it comes to this stuff. I’ve known all along that in order to get certain results, you’ve got to do certain workouts. I guess I just had something “click” and it finally registered in my mind.
I’ve been doing the new T25 workout from Shaun T’s newest collection. For those of you who don’t know about FOCUS T25 its a 25 minute workout designed to do 5 days a week. If you want to know all the specs on it, just click on the T25 link. Its a great workout and I highly recommend it if your wanting a quick workout to help you start your fitness journey. Honestly for me, it didn’t give me what I was going after. Honestly I only did it because it was brand new and I wanted to see what it was about and I thought I’d maintain a lot of what I already have.
I did get some resutls that actually worked out to my benefit. But I was actually in great shape to begin with. I’d been doing a Body Beast and P90X Hybrid that I designed prior. I had packed on some muscle and my abs looked the best they have since my first few rounds of P90X. Being that T25 uses light weights and a lot of cardio I knew that I’d lose some of the muscle…and I did, but not as much as I thought.
Get to the point right? Ok. Well for me, I lost a little ab definition. Its still there, but not what it was. T25 I think is laid out for a low calorie diet, because of the shorter workouts. And thats ok, some people need that. I however was used to putting back some calories, because I wanted muscle mass. So in hindsight the lack of my results were probably because I didn’t follow the suggested calorie intake. Overall the program is great, but Im more of a P90X and Beast guy. Like I said, at least I learned what’s definitely for me and whats not.
Tough Mudder Training! I LOVE doing Tough Mudder’s! T25 is a 60 day program. So on about day 20 or 30’ish I started running to prepare for Tough Mudder in Charlotte NC. I’ve never been real big into running but surprisingly I did extremely well on my first run, which was 3.5 miles. My breathing was under control, I wasn’t out of breath at all, my legs were great and I wasn’t really sore the next day! Usually I have a ton of knee pain and Im sore as crap the next day! So like I said, I wasn’t expecting that, so some good did come from it.
So like I said before, I’ve been super busy with my Beachbody Team putting together some really cool stuff. I think you’ll find some real value with it. Here lately the the two HOTTEST workouts on the Beachbody market are Shaun T’s Insanity and Sagi Kalev’s Body Beast. To go along with that are popular questions comparing the two. So Im going to do a Body Beast vs Insanity break down. — I going to stick this in at the top also, (I usually put this at the bottom). If you have any comments please feel free to leave them! I love hearing your feedback and if I’ve helped you in your decision towards a workout, or you’ve gotten one from my site please share this with your social networks and/or leave a comment! — I’ve done both workouts. In fact right now Im trying to create a hybrid schedule to do both Body Beast and Insanity for a 90 day cycle. Comparing these two workouts is like comparing golf balls to base balls. Both are round, both are hit with an object, and both can travel a long distance. They sound very similar. Two completely different games though. Both workouts will leave you exhausted, sweaty, and will get you in great shape. The road to travel though is very, very different.
It’s high impact interval training. Right out of the gate it seems like your going 110 mph. I remember when I first did Insanity the warmup kicked my but. You go straight into jogging in place to jumping jacks, to mountain climbers and jumping rope (a pretend jump rope) and then you do it again a little faster, then one more time as fast as you can. Then you stretch. Then you start your workout. Don’t let that scare you though! Insanity for me improved my endurance 100%. It’s always my favorite summertime workout because in the summer most people love being outside whether its working in the yard, playing sports or just messing around with friends or the kids out in the yard. After the first time I did Insanity I remember running in my first race, ever! It was a 10K race. I didn’t even know how long a 10K was. The friend that I was running with was making fun of me, telling me they were going to beat me. Well to make a long story short I ended up beating them by almost 3 minutes. I had never felt better. My heart rate was under control, I wasn’t even out of breath. Thanks to Insanity! Theres virtually no equipment needed for this workout. All you really need is 1. water and 2. a soft surface to jump around on. You will sit on the ground also to do some of the moves, so a concrete floor isn’t the best idea for that, so a least have some sort of mat that you can sit on. Oh and have a good pare of shoes! Most all the moves you can do with in a 6′ x 6′ area and thats plenty. All the moves are pretty simple to do. But Shaun T doesn’t play around. His combination of moves keeps your heart rate up and the sweat flowing. You can check out this short video to see what you can expect from Shaun T’s Insanity.
With Insanity you will get in amazing shape. You can get 6 pack abs, toned muscles and you will eventually be able to perform your favorite activities at an athletes pace. Well at least close to that. Your body will be conditioned to handle just about any activity you throw at it. I like extreme sports, activities and mud runs. This is the perfect workout to get ready for something like that. Of course you don’t have to like any of that stuff to like Insanity. Bottom line if you just want a great workout that doesn’t involve equipment then this is your workout.
This is a little slower paced workout. Don’t be fooled though! This workout is jam packed with old school weight lifting techniques with some new school moves to. Sagi has been a body builder for a long time. He really knows how to help you get bigger and stronger muscles in just 90 days! The best part is he’s done it all naturally. By that I mean that Sagi hasn’t used steroids to get where he’s at. I liked doing this workout because it was completely different from any other workout that I’d done in the past few years. Its basically all weight lifting. I increased my muscle mass much more than I thought I would. There is some cardio with the Beast program. Again don’t be fooled. With all the weight that your throwing up, you’ll burn some massive calories with it. You can achieve 6 pack abs, bigger arms, lats, shoulders, chest and legs. Any muscle you can name, you’ll see some improvement in. This is strength training. Thats really it in a nut shell.
The reason I want to create a hybrid between the Body Beast and Insanity is because Im looking to achieve the muscles and have the performance of an athlete. I’m not sure that I’ll obtain the same amount of mass, but thats what Im going to do this time. With Body Beast there is equipment that you’ll need. And to go along with it, I would highly recommend the supplements to go with it. My personal opinion is, if you do Body Beast without the supplements, Its like buying a car and never putting gas in it. And using something besides twhat’s been formulated for the Beast workout is like buying a car that that requires 93 gas and you put in 87, it just doesn’t make sense. I have another post on the Equipement and Supplements if you want to read up more on it.

Really its not just with Body Beast and Insanity, it’s with all the Beachbody workouts. Its the Nutrition. Both the Beast and Insanity come with a well planned nutrition guide. Again they are both very different. Insanity is going to help you in eating things that will help you lose weight and get those toned muscles. Body Beast also has a healthy guide, but its food is more focused on helping you get the required calories to get the muscle mass.
Something to consider with both workouts, is Shakeology. Its just smart nutrition.
So which workout is it going to be for you? The easiest and most economical way to get these workouts is with a Challenge Pack. The Challenge pack has all you need in it. I did a post previously reviewing the Body Beast supplements and the equipment that you would need to do the Body Beast workout, but I wanted to go a little further and really show you a visual of what you need and why it’s important not to skip out on some of the equipment. I also quickly run through the Body Beast “Book of the Beast”, both the schedule for the Lean Beast workout and the Huge Beast workout. I did however forget to mention the Workout Sheets! When you start the Beast workout you must, must have the workout sheets that go along with it. It’s so important to track your results so that when you do the workout again the following week, you’ll know what you did before, and what you need to improve on. The Body Beast Equipment and Supplements are a key component to this program. With the wrong supplements or to little equipment you might not get as good of results as you could have. I’ll give you my best Body Beast Review on what I think you should or shouldn’t do. You can make due with equipment to a degree. If your just getting started and building your library of equipment then you may have to do some of the modifications while your working towards getting more equipment. The supplements are a different story. I must say, I don’t understand why some would rather run out to GNC, buy something cheap that they really don’t know the effects of all the ingredients and trust someone behind the counter to tell them what they think they should take when the majority of the time they’re just telling you something they have read on a report sheet. The creators of the Beast Supplements did their research and tested them on real people. I had the pleasure of thoroughly speaking with Sagi and some of the experts an they know what their talking about! I personally don’t have a masters degree in nutrients or supplements, which is why I choose to trust the people who have put in the time to study and test in this area. Of course you can do this program without the supplements, but again, if your looking to build muscle mass you’ve got to be willing to invest in yourself. I would highly recommend that you use them. Both P90X and Body Beast are very good workouts but target a different result. I’ll give you my best P90X Review and Body Beast Review and let you decide which program you think will best help you accomplish your goals. They will both help with muscle definition and working on your six pack, but one as it was described to me is for “looking” and the other is for “doing“. Those are the words of Tony Horton the co creator of P90X. What I mean by that is we all in a sense workout for ego to a certain degree. Most of us want a great looking stomach, defined arms, legs, shoulders and back, male and female. Of course in the back of our minds we all want to be over all more healthy and in great working physical condition, but you have to admit there’s some ego involved as well.
This workout is for “doing”, again this is how Tony described it an online chat with the Team Beachbody Club members in June of 2012. Doing, in layman’s terms means to be able to perform athletically. P90X is designed to burn fat, lean out the body and build muscle, not muscle mass. While some definitely do get great muscles from doing the P90X program, in most cases it shreds the body of fat and turns it into lean muscle. The moves associated with P90X help you to be able to play sports better (for fun, or even as a pro athlete) or help you enjoy physical activities such as running, rock or rope climbing, mud runs and so on. Or even practical things such as just being able to move better or have better balance. For example simple things like picking up your child, doing yard work, climbing steps, or other leisure activities that might be a problem for you right now.
This program is the one for “looking”. Im not sure if Tony was being sarcastic when he gave this answer…I personally like Sagi Kalev (co creator of Body Beast) and have done 90 days of Body Beast (and got great results), but there is some truth to what Tony said. This program is all about building muscle mass. There is very little cardio in this program, with the exception of Leg day which really revs my heart rate, and there is a Beast Cardio workout, but it seems like another Leg routine to me. The Body Beast program is all about ego. You want big muscles. What do we do when we have big muscles? We look at them…every time we walk past a mirror we have to give a little “flex” if you know what I mean? And there is nothing wrong with that. But lets be realistic. You don’t see many body builders out running 5k’s or 10k’s. Why? Because you don’t want to lean out that muscle mass. I was under the same impression that Im sure most of you are, before I learned that cardio isn’t always the most effective way of burning fat. Tony even said himself, lifting weights builds muscle. Cardio will give you an after burn for and hour or three, but (and thats a big but) muscle burns fat 24 hours around the clock, which is why both program work and is why the Body Beast program won’t make gain fat taking in a all those calories. Oh yeah, with the Beast you EAT!
Both the P90X and Body Beast programs provide you with excellent meal planners. But again they are both very different.
P90X has 3 Phases:
Body Beast is a little more lenient. It doesn’t tell you what to eat each day. It does however give you an example of what your day could look like. You first need to figure out how many calories your going to take in (the planning guide will help you figure this out), and then you can choose from the recipe’s in the book for healthy ways to get your calories. McD’s hamburgers are definitely not on that list of suggested foods. Body Beast did a great job of planning a healthy way for you to build your muscle mass and has gotten great reviews for it.
Well there isn’t a good and better choice here. You really need to figure out what your goals are. If you want to lose weight, and build a lean body, work on your athleticism, balance, running or just be able to enjoy some of the simple things in life we take for granite like picking your child up or playing with the grand kids in the yard, then the P90X program is the way to go. For the men reading, you can add a great deal of muscle with P90X so don’t get me wrong. But if straight up muscle mass is what your looking for, and you enjoy lots of weight lifting, and/or want to even compete in competitions then the Body Beast program is what you want. For the ladies, let me say this, I do know several women who do Body Beast and there is actually a “Lean Beast” schedule that you can follow. The amount of size you put on is based on the calories you take in and genetics does play a small role, so if you’re a lady and you want to do this program I encourage you to do so!
So who is P90X designed for? Simple answer: Anyone that wants to be in better shape, and live a healthy lifestyle. It helps with simple task around the house or performing athletically better. The winners of the $100k at summit in 2012 both did P90X (and Shakeology) to get their results. The male was obese to start and he actually lost 200 lbs. So really anyone can do this workout. But it takes a lot of commitment. Don’t worry though, you get free support from me as your coach, and tons of support from the Team Beachbody community. They are real people, getting real results.
Who is Body Beast designed for? Any male or female that wants to concentrate on building muscle. You will and can burn fat and lose weight with this program. Just keep in mind that its designed to make you a “Beast”. Sorry I had to say it, but really it is designed to help you build muscle. And the same applies here. You get me free for support as your coach, and tons of support from the Team Beachbody community.

Yep, that’s me and my teammate. Tired wasn’t the word for it. But it was an absolute blast to do this challenge. We ran in the Tough Mudder Carolina’s 2012 on Saturday, October 27th. We live in NC so we had to drive down to SC and stay the night that Friday. It wasn’t really that far away, just a little over 2.5 hours. Neither of us had ever done TM before so we were just like you are now…NERVOUS! I don’t think either of us or even the girls slept that Friday night. We had an 8am start time, so the only thing that we were really, Im going to use the word anxious about was the obstacle called Arctic Enema. Jumping in a big dumpster full of 32˚F ice water at 8am was a bit intimidating to say the least. I think we all ended up getting out of the bed about 5am that Saturday morning getting ready and heading out to the course which was only about 10 minutes from our hotel…thank you Tough Mudder!
The first bit of advice I would give you is, get there about an hour to hour and a half early. Theres plenty to keep you entertained while your waiting. It probably going to take you about 10 minutes to get from the car to the entrance, then you’ll check in, then have someone right your number on your forehead and leg/arm. My teammate wanted to get a mohawk, so we had to wait on that also. They were actually calling our time as he was in the chair getting shaved so, you want to be sure to allow time for stuff like that.
That one is really going to be a hard question to answer. It’s really going to depend on what the weather is supposed to be like. If it going to be hot, probably just a pair of runners shorts or some ball shorts, assuming your not going to dress up for it, then your on your own. We actually got lucky and it was about 60˚F all day so I chose to wear UA (Under Armour) Cold Gear Compression shirt and leggings, with a pair of BBall shorts over (for courtesy) and just a light T-Shirt over top. From being wet most of the day, the UA actually kept me warm the entire time, and dried relatively fast! I would definitely recommend it if your not running in warm weather! As far as shoes, I wore the MEN’S UA CHARGE RC RUNNING SHOES. The shoe itself performed well. It was light on my feet and it cleaned up VERY EASY. The only problem the I had was I got a lot of sand in my shoes, of course that is to be expected when your running 12 miles in mud that sometimes came up to my chest (im 5’7″). Im going to continue to research before our 2013 run. I did find that once I got home and washed out my socks that most of the sand was actually inside my sock, so that leads me to believe that the shoe did its job. So if you ran in that shoe, I would suggest getting some long knee socks, and not ankle (footy) socks. Either way, remember that unless your Superman your going to get dirty, sore and maybe if your lucky some cuts and bruises.
These Were Our Obstacles in Order:
Now I have done just about ever kind of workout that Beachbody offers plus just done normal workout that you would do in the Gym/treadmill etc. I actually have 4 suggested workouts. I would use 2 of them together in combination to get ready for Tough Mudder, because it is probably the toughest event on the planet.
I would highly recommend these 4 workouts to train at least for 6 months before your TM.
Now me personally I’m on my last week of Body Beast and I incorporated Insanity the Asylum in about 45 days leading up, but mind you Im in pretty good shape. I would do P90X or Body Beast with either of the Insanity works. I have tones of Hybrid workouts so just let me know your training for TM and I’ll send you the schedules. Now I would recommend getting either the P90X or Body Beast Challenge Pack. You need to feed your body the right things so don’t waste your time on the cheep stuff from Walmart. You put good in your get good out, you put bad in your get bad out!
Im not going to go into lots of detail here, Your just going to have to trust me. In fact let me just say if you get either of the challenge packs, just get Insanity the Asylum. The moves in this workouts really help in the most all the obstacles your going to go through and it helps build stamina for running/jogging the 10-12 miles!
